Why did we pick it?

As shown in the video, it backs up to Little Blue Lake, with its own dock. Pedal boat and kayaks provided. We were looking to escape for a bit after our big move out of Cincinnati, so we didn’t worry about work spaces so much for this one. It has a nice, covered deck overlooking the lake. 2 bed/1 bath.

Why would we recommend it?

The outdoor space! The deck faces west for nice sunsets. The lake is very nice to explore with paddleboards or kayaks, and you can swim in it. Some of the neighbors shot off some good fireworks over July 4th weekend.

This is balanced by the no frills interior, however, with a very small washer/dryer, no dishwasher or disposal (similar to most small MI lakehouses), and a mini A/C unit in the living room. So set expectations appropriately.

Note that we do not make walk through videos for locations that we would not recommend. We always get permission from the host before posting the video, and most hosts appreciate the marketing.

Anything to know before you book?

The house and deck can be a bit of a hazard for tall people, with Eric (6’2″) hitting his head on multiple overhangs and door frames. Parking for 2 cars (uncovered). It’s down a gravel ungraded road, would be nice to have a high clearance vehicle but certainly not required. Only a few steps down to the dock on the lake.
