Greenville, MI – Stay Recap

Stay #1
Dates Stayed: July 1-11, 2021
Lodging: See our AirBnB tour!

Why did we go here?
Michigan is really nice in the summer and less nice the rest of the year, so we prioritize visiting it in summer. We wanted to be on a lake, which would give us a bit of relaxation time after the move. This was the best option by the time we booked; we didn’t actively seek out Greenville. It worked out that it was close to Grand Rapids and not too far from either Cincinnati (where we drove from) or our next spot, South Haven.

What breweries did we try?

What else did we do?
– Played on the lake (paddle boarding, kayaking, pedal boat, sitting by the water), which was the point of booking the house we did
– Fireworks July 3rd at Bostwick Lake 15 min away, which was okay, though the neighbors of our Airbnb actually put on some small shows on the 4th that were well done
The Kicks at Bowen Lake, a soccer golf course (!), which was very fun to play what was essentially disc golf combined with mini golf, but with a soccer ball. We had heard of this game but never played before.

Would we return to Greenville?
Maybe! It was a very small town (around 4,000 people) and had a Meijer and brewery. We didn’t really explore otherwise, just drove to Grand Rapids for the other breweries. There didn’t seem to be much hiking nearby, though there is a bike trail that we didn’t try out. There are countless small residential lakes all around Michigan, and we would definitely go stay on a small lake in the state again.
